Job Description
Position Summary :
The Monitoring Tools Administrator will manage and optimize Otsuka's monitoring, observability, and AIOps platforms across cloud and on-premises environments. This role will ensure reliable event collection, intelligent alert correlation, effective incident automation, and actionable operational reporting.
The administrator will work closely with infrastructure, application, security, DevOps, and service-management teams to improve platform availability, reduce alert noise, and strengthen incident-response processes.
Key Responsibilities :
- Administer enterprise monitoring and observability platforms across hybrid environments.
- Configure and maintain Moogsoft event ingestion, integrations, correlation rules, Cookbooks, Recipes, TeamRooms, and user access.
- Integrate Moogsoft with monitoring and ITSM platforms, including LogicMonitor, Dynatrace, Splunk, Datadog, and ServiceNow.
- Configure automated incident creation, routing, assignment, notifications, escalation, and resolution workflows.
- Tune alert thresholds, event policies, and correlation rules to reduce duplicate alerts and improve signal quality.
- Monitor the health, performance, and availability of monitoring platforms and supporting integrations.
- Troubleshoot event-ingestion failures, API issues, authentication problems, notification failures, and ticket-creation errors.
- Support platform upgrades, maintenance activities, configuration changes, and release validation.
- Develop and maintain dashboards and reports covering system availability, alert trends, incident volumes, response times, and operational performance.
- Maintain standard operating procedures, runbooks, architecture documentation, configuration records, and audit evidence.
- Coordinate with infrastructure, application, security, cloud, DevOps, and service-management teams to onboard new monitoring requirements.
- Participate in incident, problem, and change-management activities.
- Identify opportunities to improve monitoring coverage, operational efficiency, automation, and service reliability.
- Support compliance, access-management, documentation, and change-control requirements applicable to the operating environment.
Required Qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Three or more years of experience administering monitoring, observability, AIOps, or IT operations platforms.
- Hands-on experience with Moogsoft or a comparable event-correlation and AIOps platform.
- Experience integrating monitoring tools with ITSM platforms, preferably ServiceNow.
- Working knowledge of REST APIs, JSON, webhooks, authentication methods, and integration troubleshooting.
- Experience with cloud and on-premises infrastructure monitoring.
- Understanding of incident, problem, change, and event-management processes.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications :
- Experience with LogicMonitor, Dynatrace, Splunk, Datadog, or similar monitoring tools.
- Experience with Linux/Unix administration and basic scripting.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Knowledge of ITIL practices and service-management operations.
- Experience developing operational dashboards and performance reports.
- Experience working in regulated or highly controlled environments.
