Job Description
JOB Summary:
An experienced Senior Technical & Business Consultant to support a strategic Health Information Exchange (HIE) initiative within the NPHIES ecosystem in Riyadh. The ideal candidate will bring a strong combination of healthcare interoperability, FHIR/HL7, NPHIES, solution architecture, business analysis, and payer-provider domain expertise. This is a client-facing consulting role requiring the ability to bridge business requirements, technical architecture, healthcare workflows, and implementation teams.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Healthcare Interoperability & NPHIES:
- Provide SME-level expertise on FHIR, HL7 and healthcare interoperability.
- Support integration and compliance with NPHIES requirements and standards.
- Assess healthcare data exchange requirements across HIS, HIE, payer and provider systems.
- Review new NPHIES releases and validate business and technical requirements.
2. Solution Architecture & Integration:
- Design and review FHIR/API-based integration architectures.
- Evaluate data structures, interfaces, APIs and integration patterns.
- Support integration across HIS, HIE, payer, provider and enterprise platforms.
- Work with development and architecture teams on scalable healthcare solutions.
3. Business & Functional Consulting:
- Gather, analyse and validate business requirements.
- Conduct gap analysis and translate business needs into technical solutions.
- Review healthcare workflows, functional specifications and solution designs.
- Support testing, validation and release readiness.
4. Revenue Cycle & Payor Domain:
- Provide functional expertise across Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) and payer-provider workflows.
- Analyse healthcare financial processes and identify opportunities for optimization.
- Support digital transformation initiatives involving payors, claims and financial healthcare services.
5. Client & Stakeholder Management:
- Act as a trusted advisor to client stakeholders.
- Conduct workshops, solution reviews and knowledge-transfer sessions.
- Collaborate with Business Analysts, Developers, QA, Architects and Delivery teams.
- Prepare functional, technical and advisory documentation.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, MIS or related discipline.
- 8 - 10 years of overall IT experience.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in HealthTech / Healthcare IT.
- Strong expertise in FHIR and HL7.
- Proven experience with HIE, HIS, healthcare integration or payer-provider platforms.
- Strong understanding of NPHIES is highly preferred.
- Good knowledge of Revenue Cycle Management and Payor processes.
- Strong technical background in SQL, APIs, integration and enterprise systems.
- Experience with .NET, Java or other backend technologies.
- Understanding of solution architecture, microservices and cloud-based platforms.
- Strong business analysis, requirements gathering and documentation skills.
- Excellent consulting and stakeholder-management capabilities.
- Fluent English and mandatory Arabic language proficiency.
