Introduction Ref: CBU 19431 - Buyer – Mining Employer Description Our client is a construction cost consultancy practice providing comprehensive quantity surveying, cost management, project controls, procurement advisory, and contract administration services across a wide range of sectors, including commercial, infrastructure, mining, oil & gas, energy, healthcare, industrial, and residential developments. Duties & Responsibilities Job Description You will: •Manage procurement from purchase requisition through to purchase order and delivery . •Source and evaluate suppliers and obtain competitive quotations. •Negotiate pricing, lead times, terms and delivery requirements . •Evaluate quotations and make sound purchasing recommendations. •Manage supplier relationships and follow up on outstanding orders and deliveries. •Ensure purchases comply with procurement policies, approval requirements and commercial controls. •Resolve supplier, invoice, delivery and purchasing discrepancies. •Work closely with Finance, Engineering, Maintenance, Stores and other operational teams . •Maintain accurate procurement records, supplier information and purchasing reports. •Identify opportunities for cost savings, improved supplier performance and procurement efficiencies Desired Experience & Qualification Qualifications •Relevant Procurement / Supply Chain qualification preferred. Skills •Approximately 3–6 years’ hands-on Buyer experience (personally managed end-to-end buying/procurement responsibilities) •Proven experience managing procurement activities independently , not only in an administrative/support capacity. •Strong supplier negotiation and commercial skills. •Good understanding of purchasing processes and controls. •Strong Excel and ERP/procurement system experience – SAP / Ariba / Coupa advantageous. •Mining, engineering, construction or industrial procurement experience highly advantageous. •Must be comfortable working onsite at a mine in Rustenburg and operating independently.
