Software Engineer - Golang/C++/Java

Software Engineer (Data + Backend) Job Location : Bangalore (Indiranagar) About : We think there is a better approach to healthcare. One that allows everyone to be fully covered for all their healthcare needs, including the things that help us prevent issues, not just treat them. By taking on the clinical care ourselves (with our doctors, our clinics, our hospital, and our partners) we can make this cover cheaper than traditional insurance products. Yes, that is both better and cheaper. We think it's possible. We work with insurers, labs, hospitals and have our own doctors and medical facilities to provide our services and do as much as possible ourselves. That allows us to fully control the experience, the outcomes, and the costs. That philosophy is also reflected in our tech team. With under 20 people we have built up a lot of systems from scratch over the past 2 years. Everything from an in-house EMR platform, to a consumer app full of features, countless integrations and internal platforms. We have even built our own UPI scanner by integrating directly with banks. There is so much the tech team does at Even, and there is still so much more to build! What You Will Do : - Build and maintain systems that ensure the right data is generated, processed, and populated accurately across our systems, with a focus on reliability, consistency, and scalability. - Build up Even's back end infrastructure. We handle everything ourselves, from insurance use cases to healthcare ones, so the scope is very large and the team is small. You will get a lot of ownership and responsibility. - Build tools for boosting productivity of your fellow developers, and team members (existing examples include : time machine that lets us view our DB data at any point in history, an LLM based data science engine, the list goes on). - Enable and build up our AI/ML use cases around risk quantification, prevention, and patient engagement (e.g. we have an LLM based medical chatbot on whatsapp). What You Will Need : - Proficiency in Go or a similar strongly typed language like C++ or Java. - Experience or an interest in data management and data infrastructure for analytics and AI training. - Exposure to programming practices in tech (or tech-first) companies (such as : distributed build systems, continuous integration & deployment, staging/prod environments, unit testing, code reviews). Good to have : - Exposure to Google Cloud and NoSQL DBs. - Data engineering experience, and an interest in ML. - Experience in SQL and tools such as dbt/MLflow, etc.
