Job Description
WEFT LABS IS HIRING
Role : Product Engineer
Contract / freelanceRemoteDay rate on applicationFull time possible later
Weft Labs is building the live index of everything an AI agent can pay for.
WHAT WE DO :
Agents can do real work now. The moment they need an outside service they hit the human internet : no API key, no account, no approved payment method. The task stops and waits for a person.
Weft gives an agent one integration to find, rank, pay and execute across paid APIs.
We are live in beta, with thousands of paid endpoints fully indexed and real transactions running through the account layer.
THE ROLE :
You work directly with the founders on product and strategy :
- Turn the index into products people actually use : search, the agent account, the data layer
- Decide what we build next and what we kill
- Get Weft into the places agents already live : skills, SDKs, MCP, partner integrations
- Start freelance, part time or full time, shaped around you. If it works for both sides we talk about something permanent.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR :
- You ship. Prototypes over decks.
- Fluent with agents and the tooling around them : MCP, skills, SDKs, coding agents
- You know micropayments and stablecoin wallet infrastructure (x402, MPP, USDC, on and off ramps, custody). This is the strongest signal for us.
- You have opinions about where the agent economy goes next and you can defend them
- Comfortable with ambiguity, a tiny team and no process
- Language : Rust, ruby, python, typescript, go
- skills : on-chain payment, data/infra, search
- Nice to have : developer tooling or API product experience, writing that people actually finish.
HOW TO APPLY : BUILD SOMETHING
We read the work first, then the CV. Both, in one email.
There is no hard deadline, we review as things arrive and start interviews with the people whose work stands out. Ship it in a day if you want to.
What we look at : what you chose to build, how you built it, and how well you handled the parts of our product that are not finished yet.
