IT Operations Manager
1Click
Energy Solutions | Toronto, Ontario |
Full-Time, In Office
Work arrangement
This is a full-time,
five-day-per-week position at our downtown Toronto office. Remote and hybrid
arrangements are not available for this role.
About 1Click Energy Solutions
1Click Energy Solutions is a Canadian energy solutions
company helping homeowners transition to modern, energy-efficient home comfort
systems. Our work includes heat pumps, home electrification, energy-efficiency
upgrades, and related customer services.
As our business continues to grow across Canada, we are
investing in the technology, security, and operational systems that support our
employees, customers, and field operations.
The opportunity
We are looking for a hands-on IT Operations Manager to own
and lead our internal IT function. Initially, you will operate as a department
of one, supported by our Full Stack Developer, company leadership, and external
specialists. You will be equally comfortable resolving technical issues,
administering critical systems, advising leadership, and building the processes
and roadmap required for growth.
This role requires initiative and sound business judgment.
You will independently assess competing demands, identify risks and
opportunities, recommend a course of action, and carry work through to
resolution and documentation. Leadership initially means ownership,
communication, influence, and coordination; as the company grows, you may help
shape and lead an expanded IT function.
You are not expected to be the deepest expert in every
platform. You are expected to know what you can solve directly, when to
investigate, and when to engage the right specialist—while remaining
accountable for the outcome.
What you will own
• Set day-to-day priorities across
support, security, infrastructure, projects, and continuous improvement based
on business impact and risk.
• Administer Microsoft 365, Entra
ID, Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, user access, multifactor
authentication, privileged accounts, and security policies.
• Oversee employee onboarding and
offboarding, device deployment, permissions, endpoint management, patching,
antivirus, backups, and access reviews.
• Support and administer NetSuite
ERP and connected SuiteApps, HubSpot, Dialpad, customer-support platforms,
field-service applications, and other SaaS systems.
• Provide responsive internal
help-desk support and eliminate recurring issues through root-cause analysis
and lasting solutions.
• Manage computers, mobile devices,
office networking, internet, Wi-Fi, printers, server-room equipment,
meeting-room technology, and office access-control systems.
• Manage hardware procurement and
lifecycle, IT assets, software licences, subscriptions, renewals, vendors, and
technology spending.
• Maintain reliable integrations and
data flows, and work with our Full Stack Developer on automation, testing,
troubleshooting, and system improvements.
• Develop practical IT policies,
documentation, service standards, incident-response procedures, recovery plans,
and a roadmap aligned with company growth.
• Evaluate and recommend solutions
to leadership with clear explanations of business value, cost, risk, urgency,
and implementation requirements.
What we are looking for
• Five or more years of progressive
experience in IT operations, systems administration, infrastructure, or a
related field, including meaningful ownership of an IT environment.
• Strong Microsoft 365 and Entra ID
administration experience, with a solid understanding of identity, endpoint
security, networking, backups, and access management.
• Experience administering cloud
business systems, integrations, employee technology, software licensing, and IT
assets.
• Strong hands-on troubleshooting
and root-cause analysis skills across software, hardware, accounts,
connectivity, and business applications.
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize
competing support requests, security risks, infrastructure needs, and
improvement projects independently.
• Experience building structure in
an evolving environment through documentation, policies, service standards,
project plans, or technology roadmaps.
• Clear written and verbal
communication, including the confidence to make recommendations to senior
leadership and challenge assumptions constructively.
• Sound judgment, personal
accountability, curiosity, and consistent follow-through, with the ability to
work in our downtown Toronto office five days per week.
Preferred
• Previous experience as an IT
Operations Manager, IT Lead, Senior Systems Administrator, or sole IT owner.
• Experience with NetSuite, HubSpot,
Dialpad, SharePoint, Azure, endpoint-management platforms, or comparable systems.
• Experience supporting a
multi-location operational business and coordinating specialist vendors.
• Experience with PowerShell,
JavaScript, Python, SuiteScript, APIs, workflow automation, AI productivity
tools, or integration platforms.
• Relevant education or
certifications in Microsoft technologies, networking, security, IT, or project
management.
What success looks like
• A responsive, well-prioritized IT
support function with consistent follow-through.
• Reliable onboarding, offboarding,
security, endpoint management, account governance, and business continuity.
• Accurate documentation of systems,
administrators, vendors, licences, assets, configurations, and recovery
procedures.
• A practical technology roadmap and
measurable reductions in recurring problems and manual work.
Compensation and benefits
Expected base salary: $85,000 CAD annually
Final compensation will reflect
the successful candidate's experience, qualifications, and demonstrated
capability. The position also includes competitive benefits.
Why join 1Click
• Own an important business function
and work directly with company leadership.
• Build the standards, systems, and
roadmap supporting national growth.
• Make improvements with visible
operational impact and help shape how the IT function grows.
This posting is for an existing vacancy. Please submit your
resume and a brief note describing an IT environment, process, or risk that you
independently improved.
1Click Energy Solutions welcomes applications from qualified
candidates and is committed to providing accommodation during the recruitment
process in accordance with applicable law.
