Job Description
Axiom , the premier global provider of on-demand legal talent, is seeking accomplished / senior privacy lawyers to provide long term data privacy support for our leading multinational corporate client.
The ideal candidates will possess solid privacy experience with hands‑on exposure to the telecommunications regulatory privacy framework. Client offers flexible work arrangements, e. g.
full remote work arrangements/options for work location Key resopnsibilities Act as a senior legal adviser on privacy, confidentiality of communications, data handling, data access/retention and lawful‑access issues in a telecoms and network services environment.
Provide clear, risk‑based advice to privacy, regulatory, enforcement and compliance stakeholders on relevant laws and regulatory expectations.
Lead or contribute to the drafting and improvement of key policies, guidance and contractual provisions relating to privacy, confidentiality, information security and regulatory compliance.
Support incident and issue management where privacy or confidentiality concerns arise Work closely with technical, operational and security teams to help ensure products, services and projects comply with legal and regulatory requirements, and keep stakeholders informed of key legal and regulatory developments.
Key requirements Admitted to practise as a solicitor in Australia with of 7 - 15 PQE. Senior lawyers are welcome to apply.
Significant post‑qualification experience in privacy Experience advising under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the telecommunications‑specific privacy framework and interception/access restrictions (e. g. Part 13 and related interception/access laws).
would be an asset In‑house or secondee experience in a telecommunications, network services or other highly regulated technology environment, or relevant experience from private practice required Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment and influence decision‑makers at all levels.
