Job Description

Your mission planqc builds neutral atom quantum computers in Garching. Behind every experiment and every line of control software sits an IT setup that has to work: laptops that are ready on day one, accounts that exist when someone starts, and hardware that is where it should be.

As a Working Student in IT Support & Systems , you will be the first point of contact for colleagues who need IT help. You handle 1st level support, prepare and hand over equipment, and keep our Microsoft 365 environment and IT documentation in order.

You also support onboarding and offboarding from the IT side, so new colleagues can start working immediately. This role suits a student who wants real hands on experience with infrastructure and admin tools, and who enjoys helping people as much as fixing systems.

Your responsibilities Provide 1st level IT support for employees and troubleshoot common hardware, software and access issues Support hardware procurement: ordering, tracking and preparing laptops, monitors and accessories Manage the equipment lifecycle, from setup for new starters to collection and reset for leavers Support IT onboarding and offboarding, including accounts, access, devices and the welcome setup Handle day to day Microsoft 365 tasks such as mailboxes, distribution lists and Teams/SharePoint access Keep IT documentation accurate and up to date, including guides, inventory lists and onboarding checklists Work with your IT colleagues on more complex issues and escalate when needed What you bring Enrolled in an IT related degree program such as Computer Science or Information Systems, any semester Genuine interest in IT and in how systems and infrastructure work Basic computer literacy with Windows or macOS and solid troubleshooting instincts Ability to pick up new tools quickly and to ask questions when something is unclear Reliable and organized, with clear communication towards colleagues without an IT background Nice to have Hobby level experience with Windows or m
