Travel Agent Next Door - Data Engineer - SQL/Python

: About the Role: We are looking for a Data Engineer with 5+ years of experience to help build and lead a growing India-based Data Engineering pod working closely with the UK Data team. This role will be responsible for building scalable data pipelines, improving platform reliability, implementing CI/CD best practices, and supporting modern analytics and AI/ML initiatives. The candidate should be technically strong, comfortable working in a collaborative international environment, and capable of mentoring junior engineers within the India pod. Key Responsibilities: - Build and maintain scalable ELT/ETL pipelines - Work extensively with Snowflake, dbt, SQL, and Python - Implement CI/CD practices for data engineering workflows - Improve monitoring, alerting, reliability, and data quality processes - Collaborate with Data Scientists, BI teams, and stakeholders - Support data modelling and architecture initiatives - Mentor and guide junior engineers within the team - Contribute to MLOps and production deployment foundations Required Skills: - Strong SQL and Python skills - Hands-on experience with Snowflake - Strong experience with dbt - Experience building production-grade data pipelines - Good understanding of data modelling concepts (3NF, Kimball, etc.) - Experience with CI/CD and Git-based workflows - Strong communication and stakeholder management skills - Experience working with cloud-based modern data platforms Good to Have: - MLOps exposure - Experience with orchestration tools - Experience supporting BI/Analytics teams - Agile/product-based environment experience Additional Notes: - This role will work very closely with UK-based engineering teams - Strong communication and ownership mindset are important - Previous experience mentoring or leading engineers is preferred Education: - UG: B.Tech / B.E. in Any Specialization Key Skills: - Data Engineering, Snowflake, DBT, SQL, Python, CI/CD, Cloud Platform, Data Modeling, ETL
