Role Overview: As a Category Manager for Fashion, you will serve as the business owner for your specific product segment, orchestrating the end-to-end lifecycle of fashion categories. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including supply chain, marketing, and technology, to ensure that the product mix aligns with market trends and consumer demand. Your daily focus will involve balancing inventory health, optimizing pricing strategies, and fostering strong vendor relationships to drive top-line growth and bottom-line profitability. By translating consumer insights into actionable merchandising plans, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the company's market positioning and enhancing the overall customer shopping experience. Key Responsibilities: - Develop and execute comprehensive category strategies to achieve revenue targets and maximize P&L performance. - Manage the end-to-end buying and merchandising process, ensuring the right product mix is available to meet seasonal demand and consumer preferences. - Oversee vendor relationships, including contract negotiations and performance management, to ensure competitive pricing and reliable supply chain operations. - Utilize data analytics to monitor category health, track key performance indicators, and identify opportunities for growth or corrective action. - Implement dynamic pricing strategies based on competitive benchmarking and real-time market trends to maintain market leadership. - Optimize inventory levels through rigorous planning and forecasting to minimize stock-outs and reduce holding costs. - Collaborate with marketing and brand teams to design promotional campaigns that increase brand visibility and customer engagement. Required Skillset: - Demonstrated expertise in category management and retail operations, with a proven track record of managing P&L for fashion categories. - Strong analytical capabilities, with the ability to synthesize complex data sets into actionable business strategies. - Exceptional negotiation and vendor management skills, capable of building long-term partnerships that drive mutual value. - Proficiency in merchandising and inventory management, with a keen eye for fashion trends and consumer behavior. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, essential for leading cross-functional projects and influencing stakeholders at all levels. - Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment, requiring 5 to 6 years of relevant professional experience. - A degree from a premier institute is preferred, reflecting a strong academic foundation and a structured approach to problem-solving. - Comfortable working in a high-intensity, on-site environment in Gurugram, demonstrating adaptability and a hands-on approach to retail operations.
