Job Description

Support the Crewing Manager in overseeing day-to-day crewing activities. Plan crew rotations and ensure vessels maintain the required safe-manning levels. Coordinate the recruitment, screening, selection and deployment of seafarers.

Review candidates’ experience, competency, qualifications and suitability for appointment. Verify certificates, licences, medical records, training documents and sea-service history. Ensure compliance with STCW, MLC, flag-state and company requirements.

Coordinate crew changes, including flights, visas, accommodation, transportation and port-agent arrangements. Monitor the expiry of passports, seaman’s books, medical certificates and Certificates of Competency. Prepare employment contracts, joining documents and other crew-related documentation.

Liaise with Masters, vessel managers, manning agencies and internal departments regarding crewing requirements. Coordinate crew payroll information, leave records, allowances and expense claims. Monitor crewing costs and support the preparation of manpower budgets.

Assist with seafarer appraisals, promotions, succession planning and career development. Coordinate mandatory training and competency-development programmes. Address crew welfare, performance and disciplinary matters in accordance with company procedures.

Support medical cases, repatriations and emergency crew replacements. Maintain accurate personnel records within the crewing-management system. Prepare crewing reports, manpower statistics and management updates. Support internal and external audits relating to crew-management processes.

Guide junior crewing personnel and provide operational coverage in the Crewing Manager’s absence. Provide after-hours support for urgent crewing matters when required.
