Job Description

Our client is an established international engineering and technology group with operations across multiple markets and a portfolio of advanced manufacturing businesses. As the organisation continues to grow and strengthen its group-level support capabilities, it is creating a new Paralegal position to provide greater continuity, consistency and legal support across the business. This is an opportunity for an experienced paralegal to gain broad commercial and corporate exposure within a sophisticated international operating environment. Reporting to the Group General Counsel and working within a lean legal and compliance team, the successful candidate will support the day-to-day management of commercial contracts, corporate governance matters, legal administration and selected strategic transactions. The role will conduct first-level reviews of routine agreements, particularly those relating to procurement, supply chain, purchasing and trade-related matters, while identifying issues that require further legal review. The incumbent will also support corporate secretarial activities, legal research, transaction documentation and the management of legal records, templates and workflows. A key part of the role will be improving knowledge management practices and strengthening the use of standard documents, precedents and legal technology to improve efficiency across the function. The role offers broad exposure to group-level legal work, international businesses and a clear pathway to take on progressively greater legal responsibility. REQUIREMENTS: • Diploma or Degree in Law, Legal Studies or a related discipline, or an equivalent recognised paralegal qualification. • Approximately 3 to 5 years of relevant paralegal, legal executive or in-house legal support experience. • Prior experience supporting commercial contracts, with the ability to independently conduct first-level reviews and identify key obligations, risks and deviations. • Practical exposure to customer, supplier, procurement, service, consultancy, confidentiality or other commercial agreements. • Experience supporting corporate secretarial, governance or subsidiary administration matters, including resolutions, statutory records and coordination with external service providers. • Exposure to legal research, regulatory matters, corporate transactions, due diligence or restructuring would be advantageous. • Experience within manufacturing, engineering, technology, electronics, semiconductor-related or other B2B industrial environments would be highly regarded. • Comfortable supporting regional or multi-entity businesses and working with stakeholders across different functions and jurisdictions. • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple contracts, deadlines, records and follow-up actions accurately. • Good commercial judgement, with the ability to distinguish routine matters from issues requiring escalation to legal counsel. • Confident communicator who is comfortable engaging with business stakeholders, external advisers and senior management. • Resourceful, detail-oriented and comfortable working in a fast-moving corporate environment. • Familiarity with contract management systems, document repositories, legal technology or knowledge management tools would be advantageous. • Candidates who are legally qualified, or who intend to pursue legal qualification, may also be considered where their career expectations are aligned with the scope and level of the role. We regret that due to potential volume of responses, not all candidates will be contacted. #J-18808-Ljbffr
