Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review financial statements and financial reports in accordance with IRDAI regulations and Indian Accounting Standards (Ind AS / Indian GAAP).
- Manage Group financial reporting under IFRS, ensuring compliance with applicable Group accounting policies and reporting requirements.
- Prepare pro forma Ind AS financials for IRDAI reporting and regulatory requirements.
- Manage regulatory reporting to IRDAI, including BAP reporting, public disclosures, and other applicable regulatory submissions.
- Ensure timely, accurate, and compliant preparation of statutory and regulatory financial reports.
- Liaise with statutory auditors, internal auditors, and other auditors for audit planning, queries, financial reviews, and timely closure of audit observations.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders to resolve audit queries and ensure timely completion of statutory and other audits.
- Review financial statements, schedules, and supporting documentation for accuracy and completeness.
- Conduct general ledger scrutiny and review accounting entries, reconciliations, provisions, and other financial transactions.
- Identify accounting and reporting issues and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
- Ensure appropriate application and interpretation of Ind AS, IFRS, Indian GAAP, and applicable insurance accounting and regulatory requirements.
- Support preparation of Group MIS and other management reporting requirements.
- Perform financial analysis and provide meaningful insights to support management decision-making.
- Work closely with Finance, Accounting, Business, Actuarial, Tax, and other relevant functions to ensure completeness and accuracy of financial reporting.
- Support ERP implementation, enhancement, and finance process transformation initiatives.
- Contribute to process improvements, automation, and strengthening of financial reporting and accounting controls.
- Keep abreast of changes in accounting standards, IRDAI regulations, reporting requirements, and industry practices and assess their impact on financial reporting.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification is mandatory.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in the insurance industry.
- Strong hands-on experience in financial reporting and accounting.
- Experience with Ind AS, IFRS, and Indian GAAP.
- Prior experience in regulatory reporting and IRDAI requirements will be highly preferred.
- Experience in managing statutory and other audits within an insurance organization.
- Exposure to ERP implementation or finance transformation projects will be an advantage.
