Financial / Project Accountant - 6m contract

• Growing Energy Company • Broad hands on role • Attractive day rate / Remote option My client is a world-leading green technology company providing renewable energy solutions to enterprises and institutions globally, that is rapidly scaling their Australian presence, delivering large-scale renewable infrastructure projects across the country. Due to this growth, they are seeking a Financial Project Accountant to manage financial and project accounting, month-end and year-end reporting, operational finance activities and process improvements. Starting as a 6 month contract, this is a newly created role which will offer opportunity for career progression as the business expands. Required Skills • Proven experience in financial accounting and month-end/ year-end close processes • Strong understanding of Australian Accounting Standards and statutory reporting requirements • Ability to prepare and review journals, reconciliations, and supporting schedules • Experience in project accounting and cost management across multiple projects • Take ownership of accounts payable, supplier reconciliations and accruals • Demonstrated ability to implement process improvements and maintain internal controls • Prior involvement in audit preparation and liaising with external auditors • Skills in financial analysis and variance reporting • Understanding of cash flow forecasting and budget monitoring Education / Experience • Previous experience working in the renewable energy, utilities or infrastructure sectors (or similar) • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar finance or project accounting role • Professional accounting qualification (CPA/CA/ACCA) Other Requirements • Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment, with flexibility aligned to business needs • Strong organisational skills to manage multiple projects and deadlines • Commitment to continuous process improvement and compliance adherence • A keen interest in process and system improvements This is a great opportunity to contribute to a growing renewable energy business and develop your career within this industry. 6 month initial contract with a view to permanent.
