Job Title: HR Head / GM HR
Location: Pune, Maharashtra, India (On-site)
Industry: ITeS/BPO/BPM
Reports To: Center head / CEO
Budget: Up to 30 LPA Fixed
Job Summary
The Head of HR will lead the entire HR function, driving strategic talent management, employee engagement, and operational excellence. This role oversees hiring and talent acquisition, back office operations, payroll processing, compliance, performance management, and more to support organizational growth in a fast-paced services environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute HR strategies aligned with business goals, including workforce planning, succession planning, and diversity initiatives.
- Lead talent acquisition: Oversee recruitment, onboarding, employer branding, and partnerships with agencies to attract top talent.
- Manage back-office HR operations: Handle employee records, benefits administration, policy development, and vendor relationships.
- Supervise payroll and compensation: Ensure accurate, timely payroll processing, salary benchmarking, incentives, and compliance with statutory regulations (e.g., PF, ESI, TDS).
- Drive performance management: Implement appraisal systems, training programs, employee development, and leadership coaching.
- Ensure legal and regulatory compliance: Manage labor laws, audits, grievance handling, and risk mitigation in line with Indian employment statutes.
- Foster employee relations: Promote a positive culture through engagement surveys, conflict resolution, exit interviews, and wellness programs.
- Oversee HR technology: Implement and optimize HRIS systems for data analytics, reporting, and process automation.
- Budget management: Control HR departmental budgets and contribute to cost optimization.
- Collaborate cross-functionally: Partner with department heads on change management, team building, and organizational restructuring.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's/Master's degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field; MBA or PGDHRM preferred.
- 12+ years of HR experience, with 5+ years in a leadership role within BPM/BPO/ITES sector (MUST HAVE).
- Proven track record in talent acquisition, payroll operations, and scaling HR functions in mid to-large organizations.
- Certifications: SHRM-CP/SCP, PHRi, or equivalent highly desirable.
Required Skills
- Strategic mindset with strong leadership and people management abilities.
- Expertise in Indian labor laws, payroll systems (e.g., greytHR, Zoho Payroll), and HR tech tools.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Willing to work in Night shifts.
- Analytical prowess for HR metrics (e.g., attrition rates, time-to-hire).
- High integrity, empathy, and adaptability in a dynamic environment.
