About the job: SymphonyAI is a leading enterprise AI solutions provider dedicated to helping retailers and manufacturers optimize business operations through advanced analytics, planning, and automation solutions. We are seeking a Consultant - Forecaster / Data Scientist to support demand forecasting and replenishment activities for retail customers. Key Responsibilities: - Provide daily demand forecasts to customers and ensure forecast outputs are delivered accurately and on time. - Run and monitor the DFAI module to support forecasting and replenishment activities. - Maintain forecasting configurations, parameters, and business rules to ensure optimal system performance. - Analyze forecast performance, identify root causes for variances, and recommend corrective actions. - Review forecast accuracy metrics and identify opportunities to improve model performance. - Analyze large volumes of retail and supply chain data to identify patterns, trends, and business insights. - Work with internal teams and customer stakeholders to improve forecast quality and replenishment effectiveness. - Support continuous improvement initiatives by recommending enhancements to forecasting approaches, parameters, and processes. - Use Python and related tools to automate processes, perform data analysis, and support model monitoring activities. - Work with Docker, GitHub, and related development tools to manage code, deployments, and workflows. - Support issue resolution, troubleshooting, and validation of forecast outputs. - Collaborate with engineering and product teams to address system issues and implement improvements. - Engage directly with customer stakeholders to review forecast results, discuss performance, and address concerns. - Prepare reports, dashboards, and summaries related to forecast accuracy and business performance. - Support regular customer meetings and provide recommendations for process optimization. - Maintain clear documentation of forecasting logic, model assumptions, and process updates. Qualifications: - Bachelors degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Supply Chain, Computer Science, or a related field. - 3-6 years of experience in demand forecasting, data science, supply chain analytics, or retail planning. - Strong understanding of demand planning, replenishment, and forecast accuracy measurement. - Hands-on experience with Python, Pandas, and data analysis techniques. - Experience with Docker, GitHub, and model deployment or support processes. - Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills. - Ability to work in a customer-facing environment and collaborate effectively with multiple stakeholders. - Strong communication and presentation skills. Preferred Qualifications: - Experience working with machine learning models and forecasting algorithms. - Familiarity with Polars and other modern data processing frameworks. - Exposure to retail demand forecasting and replenishment systems. - Experience supporting UK-based retail customers or working in managed services environments. - Knowledge of supply chain planning concepts and inventory optimization.
