Senior AI Engineer

Salary: £100,000 - 100,000 per year Requirements: • Strong commercial experience as a Senior Software Engineer or AI Engineer with a full-stack Microsoft development background. • Extensive experience developing applications using C#/.NET and modern frontend frameworks such as React or Angular. • Experience designing and building REST APIs and integrating AI capabilities into enterprise applications. • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Azure, including Azure AI Foundry, Azure AI Services and cloud-native application development. • Experience implementing AI solutions including LLM integration, prompt engineering, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) and vector databases. • Experience working with SQL and NoSQL databases, with knowledge of platforms such as SQL Server, Snowflake, OneLake or similar data platforms. • Strong understanding of software architecture, scalability, CI/CD, DevOps and engineering best practices. • Experience working within Financial Services or another regulated environment would be advantageous. • Excellent communication skills with the confidence to work directly with business stakeholders and explain complex technical concepts. • A collaborative, hands-on approach with a product mindset, enjoying working as part of a team to deliver practical AI solutions that create genuine business value. • Must have the right to work in the UK. Responsibilities: • Design, develop and deliver end-to-end AI-powered applications from technical design through to deployment and ongoing support. • Build scalable, production-ready AI solutions using modern Azure technologies and cloud-native architecture. • Integrate Large Language Models (LLMs), Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) and Agentic AI capabilities into business applications. • Develop responsive frontend applications alongside robust APIs and backend services to create seamless user experiences. • Work closely with Product, Business Change and business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions. • Design reusable components and architecture that can support future AI initiatives across the organisation. • Ensure solutions are secure, well-tested, maintainable and aligned with engineering best practice. • Provide technical leadership, mentoring and guidance to colleagues whilst remaining hands-on with development. • Support and continuously improve production services, identifying opportunities to enhance performance and business value.
