Job Description

Salary: £? - ? per year Requirements: • Active SC Clearance, already held and current. • Sole UK National due to project security requirements. • Proven experience working within Defence, Aerospace, MOD, Defence Digital, or other highly regulated environments. • Ability to work onsite in Reading 3 days per week. • Strong commercial experience in DevSecOps environments. • Experience designing and supporting secure CI/CD pipelines. • Strong knowledge of cloud platforms including Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform. • Experience with CI/CD and pipeline tooling such as Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or similar technologies. • Strong understanding of Infrastructure as Code practices. • Experience with container technologies including Docker, Kubernetes, or container orchestration platforms. • Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell. • Strong understanding of security principles, secure engineering practices, and vulnerability management. • Knowledge of authentication and security protocols including OAuth, SAML, and TLS. • Experience troubleshooting complex build, deployment, and production issues. • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills. • Desirable: experience supporting secure government or Defence environments. • Desirable: AWS DevOps Engineer certification or equivalent. • Desirable: Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) or similar container certification. • Desirable: experience with data platforms, ETL processes, and integration technologies. • Desirable: knowledge of microservices architecture and API management. • Desirable: experience implementing GDPR or other data privacy requirements. • Desirable: exposure to security automation, compliance tooling, and cloud security frameworks. • Desirable: experience working with hybrid cloud environments. Responsibilities: • Design, develop, and maintain secure DevSecOps pipelines supporting data and integration services. • Implement Infrastructure as Code using tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or equivalent technologies. • Embed security best practices throughout the software development and delivery lifecycle. • Automate security testing, vulnerability assessments, and compliance checks within CI/CD workflows. • Monitor and troubleshoot build, deployment, and runtime environments. • Support the reliability, availability, and security of cloud-hosted platforms. • Develop and maintain automation solutions to improve engineering efficiency. • Support secure data integration solutions and ensure data availability, integrity, and protection. • Work with cross-functional teams including engineering, security, infrastructure, and architecture. • Provide technical guidance and mentoring to engineers and stakeholders. • Identify opportunities to improve DevSecOps processes, tooling, and platform capability. This is a 12-month contract based in Reading with hybrid working, requiring 3 days onsite per week.
