Job Description

Salary: £80,000 - 90,000 per year Requirements: • We ideally want experience with Microsoft Fabric in an enterprise environment. • We ideally want experience in Azure Data Engineering, including Azure Data Factory, Synapse and Lakehouse architecture. • We ideally want strong skills in SQL, Python and PySpark. • We ideally want experience in enterprise data platform architecture and design. • We ideally want knowledge of Medallion Architecture and modern data engineering best practices. • We ideally want experience with Azure DevOps, CI/CD and engineering governance. • We ideally want experience leading and developing technical engineering teams. • We ideally want experience building trusted, scalable cloud-based data platforms. • Experience supporting AI initiatives or preparing enterprise data platforms for AI workloads would be highly advantageous. Responsibilities: • We will own the technical direction and roadmap for our Microsoft Fabric platform. • We will lead, coach and develop a team of Data Engineers and Data Management specialists. • We will define architecture, engineering standards and platform best practices. • We will drive continuous improvements across data quality, governance and observability. • We will design scalable ingestion, transformation and storage solutions. • We will ensure the platform is optimised for future AI and advanced analytics initiatives. • We will collaborate closely with senior stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions. • We will support the integration of new systems and future acquisitions into our enterprise data platform. • We will champion a culture of engineering excellence and continuous improvement. We have established the foundations of our enterprise data platform and are seeking an experienced Data Platform Lead to take ownership of its future development and strategic direction. This is a highly visible leadership role with genuine autonomy, the chance to inherit a modern Microsoft Fabric environment, lead a talented Data Engineering team and help shape our long-term data, AI and analytics strategy. Over the next 12 to 24 months, we will continue evolving our enterprise Microsoft Fabric platform, invest significantly in AI and modern data capabilities, expand data capabilities across multiple business functions, and improve architecture, governance and engineering standards.
