Senior Accountant – NetSuite, GAAP, Month-End Close & Financial Reporting Full-Time | Remote | U.S. Business Hours About the Role At Pavago, one of our clients is hiring a Senior Accountant to own core accounting operations, month-end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting. This is a hands-on accounting role for someone who understands GAAP, accrual accounting, NetSuite, and full-cycle accounting and can maintain accurate, audit-ready financials while improving processes as the business grows. You’ll work closely with finance leadership, FP&A, operations, and junior accounting team members. What You’ll Own Month-End Close & General Ledger • Lead monthly and quarterly close activities • Prepare and post journal entries for accruals, prepaids, payroll, depreciation, and intercompany transactions • Maintain trial balances, close checklists, and supporting schedules • Target month-end close completion within 5–7 business days Reconciliations & Accounting Operations • Reconcile cash, AR, AP, deferred revenue, inventory, and fixed assets • Investigate discrepancies and resolve accounting issues • Maintain accurate, organized, and audit-ready financial records • Ensure appropriate accounting treatment under U.S. GAAP Financial Reporting • Prepare P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow statements • Analyze budget vs. actual and forecast vs. actual performance • Investigate material variances and provide clear commentary • Support leadership and executive reporting Audit, Compliance & Controls • Prepare PBC schedules and documentation for external audits • Support tax and compliance requirements • Maintain strong accounting controls and documentation • Ensure financial records remain audit-ready Process Improvement & Automation • Identify inefficient or manual accounting workflows • Improve reconciliations, reporting, and close processes • Support ERP optimization and accounting automation • Maintain and improve accounting SOPs Team Collaboration • Review work completed by junior accountants and bookkeepers • Support and mentor team members on reconciliations and accounting treatment • Collaborate with FP&A, operations, sales, and leadership Requirements • 4–5+ years of progressive accounting experience • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, accrual accounting, and financial reporting • Hands-on experience with NetSuite ; experience with QuickBooks, Xero, or SAP is also valuable • Proven month-end close and reconciliation experience • Strong financial statement preparation skills • Advanced Excel / Google Sheets skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, and financial analysis • Strong analytical and problem-solving ability • Excellent written and verbal English communication • Comfortable working remotely with U.S.-based teams Nice to Have • CPA or ACCA • Multi-entity accounting experience • Foreign currency accounting exposure • SaaS, real estate, or professional services experience • ERP implementation or optimization experience • Accounting automation and process-improvement experience What Success Looks Like • Month-end close completed accurately and on schedule • Clean and consistently maintained reconciliations • Accurate and timely financial statements • Audit requests completed within deadlines • Strong documentation and internal controls • Reduced manual work through improved accounting processes • Leadership has confidence in the accuracy of financial reporting Why Join • Fully remote opportunity • High ownership across accounting and financial reporting • Direct collaboration with finance leadership and FP&A • Exposure to NetSuite, automation, ERP optimization, and process improvement • Opportunity to influence scalable accounting processes • Growth path into Accounting Manager, Controller, or Finance Leadership Interview Process • Initial Application Review • Spark Hire Intro Video • Pavago Recruiter Interview • Practical Accounting Assessment • Client Interview • Offer & Onboarding Apply Now If you’re an experienced Senior Accountant with strong NetSuite, GAAP, month-end close, reconciliation, and financial reporting experience, we’d love to hear from you. #SeniorAccountant #NetSuite #GAAP #MonthEndClose #FinancialReporting #AccountingJobs #RemoteAccounting #GeneralLedger #FinanceJobs #RemoteJobs
