Budget : 20-24 LPA | AgriTech / Food Engineering - Full-time - Pune, Maharashtra
ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY :
- A leading AgriTech and food engineering company based in Pune - with over 15 years of innovation in agri-processing, food engineering solutions, and ingredient technologies - is looking for a seasoned Head of Finance to lead its finance function.
- This is a senior leadership role with direct visibility to the founding team, ideal for someone who wants to build financial rigour in a growing, multi-division business.
WHY THIS ROLE EXISTS :
The business has scaled significantly across agri-processing, food engineering, and ingredients verticals, operating across multiple geographies. The leadership now requires a strong finance head to institutionalise controls, lead statutory compliance, drive strategic financial planning, and support the next phase of growth.
WHAT YOU'LL OWN :
Financial Reporting :
- Lead preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements across all business divisions
- Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards - Ind AS / IFRS / GAAP
- Oversee general ledger, reconciliations, and month-end / year-end closing processes
- Present financial reports, insights, and variance analysis to senior leadership
- Drive automation and process improvements across financial reporting
Statutory Audit & Compliance :
- Own end-to-end statutory audit process and coordinate with external auditors
- Ensure timely closure of audit observations and implementation of recommendations
- Manage tax audits, internal audits, and all regulatory filings
- Ensure compliance with Companies Act, Income Tax, GST, and other applicable laws
- Maintain audit-ready documentation and financial records at all times
Internal Controls & Governance :
- Design, implement, and monitor financial controls and SOPs across the organisation
- Identify financial risks and recommend mitigation strategies to leadership
- Support internal audit reviews and ensure timely corrective actions
Budgeting & Financial Planning :
- Lead the annual budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes
- Monitor budget vs actuals and provide actionable commentary to management
- Support cash flow management and working capital optimisation across divisions
- Partner with business heads on financial modelling for new initiatives and expansions
Team Leadership :
- Lead, mentor, and scale the finance team
- Foster a culture of compliance, accuracy, and continuous improvement
- Allocate responsibilities and ensure high standards of accountability
WHAT YOU'LL BRING :
Core qualifications & skills :
- CA (Qualified) - Mandatory 6+ years experience Statutory Audit Ind AS / IFRS / GAAP
- GST & Tax Compliance Budgeting & Forecasting Internal Controls ERP Systems
- MIS Reporting Advanced Excel Working Capital Mgmt Team Leadership
- Prior exposure to agri, food processing, manufacturing, or multi-division businesses will be an added advantage.
