Technical Design Engineer

Job Title - TECHNICAL DESIGN ENGINEER Company: Safety Projects Pvt Ltd Department: Design & Engineering Reporting To: Technical Director Location: Umbergaon Plant Position Summary Safety Projects Pvt Ltd is looking for a skilled and innovative Technical Design Engineer responsible for design development, engineering calculations, manufacturing drawings, technical coordination, and optimization of industrial special-purpose engineering systems. The role involves close coordination with production and project execution teams to ensure efficient and manufacturable designs. Key Responsibilities Design Engineering ● Design and develop: ○ Structural support systems ○ Special components ○ Application-based engineering systems ● Prepare detailed engineering and fabrication drawings. ● Develop optimized and manufacturable design solutions. ● Ensure compliance with technical specifications and project requirements. ● Should be capable at conducting Finite Element Analysis (FEA) Technical Activities ● Perform engineering and load calculations. ● Prepare manufacturing drawings, assembly drawings, and fabrication details. ● Develop Bills of Materials (BOMs) and technical documentation. ● Prepare technical specifications and design reports. ● Coordinate prototype development and testing activities. Production Coordination ● Support the production team in resolving fabrication and manufacturing issues. ● Modify and optimize drawings based on manufacturing feasibility and site requirements. ● Coordinate with shop floor teams to ensure smooth execution of designs. Site Coordination ● Review site measurements and installation requirements. ● Coordinate with project execution and installation teams. ● Provide technical support during installation and commissioning activities when required. Software Knowledge ● AutoCAD ● SolidWorks ● Inventor ● Tekla (Preferred) Qualification ● BE in Mechanical Engineering / Structural Engineering Experience ● 5–10 years of relevant experience in industrial design engineering, fabrication design, or special-purpose engineering systems. Skills Required ● Structural design and analysis ● Fabrication and sheet metal design ● Load calculations and engineering analysis ● BOM preparation and technical documentation ● Manufacturing drawing development ● Problem-solving and analytical skills ● Coordination and communication abilities ● Should be capable at conducting Finite Element Analysis (FEA) Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) ● Drawing accuracy ● Design completion timelines ● Design optimization and material efficiency ● Reduction in manufacturing and fabrication errors ● Timely release of drawings and BOMs Preferred Attributes ● Strong technical and analytical mindset ● Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously ● Attention to detail and quality standards ● Proactive approach toward design improvement and optimization ● Team-oriented and collaborative working style
