Category Manager - Strategic Sourcing - Raw Materials

About the Role: We are looking for an experienced Manager - Strategic Sourcing (Raw Materials) to lead category management and strategic sourcing for key direct raw material categories across India. The role will be responsible for driving cost optimization, supplier strategy, innovation, supply continuity, compliance and supplier capability development, while working closely with global and regional stakeholders. Key Responsibilities: - Lead end-to-end category management for key raw material categories across India. - Own supplier strategy, pricing, contracting and long-term agreements. - Partner with R&D and flavour/ingredient teams to develop cost-effective and innovative solutions. - Lead supplier innovation initiatives, technology scouting and supplier/site audits. - Develop and execute multi-year category strategies aligned with global objectives. - Manage supplier performance through SRM, QBRs/HBRs, scorecards and supplier development. - Drive risk mitigation initiatives including capacity expansion, localization and forward cover. - Ensure FSSAI compliance in collaboration with relevant regulatory and Quality teams. - Develop category dashboards and present key insights to regional and global leadership. Candidate Profile: - 8+ years of procurement/sourcing experience. - Minimum 7 years of experience in Category Management or Strategic Sourcing. - Strong experience in raw materials, ingredients and direct spend categories. - Proven track record in cost savings, supplier negotiations and Supplier Relationship Management. - Experience working with stakeholders in a matrix/global environment. - Strong commercial acumen and contract negotiation skills. - Strong analytical, stakeholder management and executive communication skills. - Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, Accounting or a related field. Preferred Industry Experience: - Nutrition & Nutraceuticals - Health & Wellness Products - Food & Beverage Manufacturing - Food-focused FMCG - Pharmaceuticals - Agricultural Ingredients Key Category/Technical Exposure: - Experience in sourcing of starch, modified starch, corn starch, corn ingredients, sweeteners, sugar/sucrose, artificial sweeteners, food ingredients, functional ingredients and food additives would be relevant.
