Position Summary We are seeking a friendly and skilled Barista to join our team at the Pink Geranium Café & Grocery. As a cornerstone of the Bodega propeties, the Pink Geranium is a vibrant community gathering space dedicated to delivering exceptional coffee and café service. The successful candidate will craft high-quality beverages, provide outstanding customer service, and contribute to a warm, welcoming atmosphere for both locals and island visitors. Key Responsibilities Prepare and serve a variety of espresso drinks, filter coffee, and specialty beverages with skill and consistency Operate espresso machines and other café equipment safely and maintain equipment in good working order Maintain a clean and organized workstation, café, and customer seating areas in compliance with health and safety standards Provide exceptional customer service, remembering regular customers' preferences and ensuring their satisfaction Process cash and digital payments accurately and manage the point-of-sale system Assist with food and beverage preparation and the café's retail offerings as needed Communicate effectively with team members and management to support smooth daily operations Required Qualifications Experience making espresso drinks and operating espresso machines (minimum 1 year preferred) Strong customer service skills and a passion for hospitality Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously Reliability and a positive, collaborative attitude Attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and food safety standards Preferred Qualifications Barista certification or formal coffee training Knowledge of coffee origins, flavor profiles, and brewing methods Experience in a café or hospitality setting on a small island or remote community Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and seasonal shifts What We Offer Competitive hourly wage and tips Flexible scheduling Discounted café beverages and meals Low cost housing.
