Head of Finance, Mumbai, India
Role Overview:
Reporting directly to the Founders and CEO, the Head of Finance will oversee all financial operations, ensure governance and compliance, and provide strategic insights to support the next phase of growth. This is a hands-on leadership role based in Mumbai, partnering closely with senior leadership across functions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management, aligned with the company-s growth plans.
- Oversee accounting, audits, taxation, and regulatory compliance (including GST, income tax, ROC and banking covenants).
- Drive cost optimization, working capital efficiency, inventory and margin analysis across product lines and channels.
- Build and refine financial models and dashboards to support strategic decisions on capacity expansion, product launches, and market/geography expansion.
- Manage banking relationships, debt facilities and support any equity/fundraising or investor reporting requirements.
- Implement and strengthen internal controls, MIS, and ERP/finance systems; streamline processes as the company scales.
- Hire, mentor and lead a high-performing finance and accounts team.
Requirements:
- Chartered Accountant (CA) is a must.
- 8-10+ years of post-qualification experience, with at least a few years in a finance leadership role.
- Experience in FMCG/consumer, manufacturing, or beauty/personal care businesses preferred.
- Exposure to scaling SMEs/startups, capex planning, and working with promoters/founders.
- Strong grasp of Indian accounting standards, taxation, compliance, and banking.
- High comfort with financial modeling and tools (Excel, Tally/ERP, BI/MIS tools).
- Strong communication, stakeholder management, and ability to operate both strategically and hands-on.
