RPI Executive Search has partnered with a well-established food processing organization in their search for a Plant Controller based in Abbotsford, BC. The Plant Controller will serve as the senior finance leader for a dynamic manufacturing operation, providing financial leadership, operational analysis, cost accounting expertise, inventory oversight, and decision support to plant leadership and corporate finance. This role is ideal for a hands-on finance professional who enjoys partnering closely with operations and leveraging financial insights to improve plant performance, strengthen inventory controls, enhance reporting, and support data-driven decision-making. The successful candidate will play a key role in driving operational efficiency, profitability, and continuous improvement within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities • Prepare and analyze monthly plant financial results, profitability, and performance metrics • Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis • Lead cost accounting activities, including standard costing, production variance analysis, and inventory valuation • Monitor inventory accuracy, controls, cycle counts, and reporting related to waste, shrinkage, and obsolescence • Partner with plant leadership to improve operational efficiency, labour productivity, capacity utilization, and profitability • Provide timely reporting, KPIs, and financial insights that support operational decision-making • Maintain strong internal controls and support audit, compliance, and process improvement initiatives • Leverage ERP systems and reporting tools to enhance data accuracy, reporting capabilities, and operational performance • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen financial processes, inventory controls, and plant performance Candidate Experience • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related discipline. • CPA designation (or actively pursuing CPA) strongly preferred. • 5–10 years of progressive accounting and finance experience. • Experience within food processing, manufacturing, agriculture, CPG, or distribution environments is highly preferred. • Demonstrated expertise in: • Cost accounting • Inventory management • Manufacturing finance • Variance analysis, budgeting and forecasting. Experience working with ERP systems such as SAP Business One, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar platforms.Experience supporting unionized plant operations and working directly and alongside production teams.Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and business partnering skills.Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, operationally focused environment while balancing strategic thinking with hands-on execution.Location Abbotsford, BC #J-18808-Ljbffr
