Capgemini - Java Developer - Microservices Architecture

: We are looking for an experienced Java Developer with 6-11 years of strong hands-on experience in Core Java, J2EE, Spring, Spring Boot, REST APIs, and Microservices. The ideal candidate should have a solid understanding of object-oriented programming, web application development, enterprise application architecture, and deployment of Java-based applications. The candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, enhancing, integrating, and maintaining scalable Java applications. The role requires someone who can work effectively in a global, collaborative environment and contribute throughout the complete software development lifecycle. Key Responsibilities : - Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain robust enterprise applications using Core Java, Java, and J2EE. - Develop scalable and maintainable applications using Spring Framework and Spring Boot. - Build and enhance web applications using MVC architecture and frameworks such as JSP and Struts. - Apply strong Object-Oriented Programming (OOPS) concepts and Java design principles to develop clean and reusable code. - Develop and integrate RESTful APIs, REST services, and Web Services for application-to-application communication. - Design and implement Spring Boot-based Microservices and support their deployment across application environments. - Work with Hibernate/ORM for database interaction and efficient data persistence. - Develop application components following established coding standards, design patterns, and best practices. - Deploy, configure, and troubleshoot applications on Apache Tomcat and WebLogic application servers. - Participate in application integration, debugging, performance tuning, and production issue resolution. - Analyze technical requirements and translate business requirements into effective technical solutions. - Perform unit testing, integration testing, debugging, and code reviews to ensure application quality. - Collaborate with QA, DevOps, Business Analysts, Architects, Product Managers, and other technology teams. - Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives. - Troubleshoot application issues and provide timely resolutions while ensuring minimal impact on business operations. - Contribute to technical documentation, application design documentation, and deployment-related documentation. - Follow project timelines and ensure deliverables are completed within agreed deadlines. - Work effectively with geographically distributed/global teams and maintain clear communication with stakeholders. Technical Skills - Must Have : - Strong hands-on experience in Core Java, Java, and J2EE. - Excellent understanding of OOPS concepts including inheritance, abstraction, encapsulation, and polymorphism. - Good knowledge of Java Collections, Exception Handling, Multithreading, and Java fundamentals. - Experience developing enterprise-grade Java applications. - Hands-on experience with Spring Framework. - Experience with Spring 3.x or above is preferred. - Strong hands-on experience with Spring Boot. - Understanding of Spring-based application architecture and dependency injection. - Experience developing and deploying Spring Boot Microservices. - Strong experience developing and consuming RESTful services / REST APIs. - Experience integrating applications using Web Services. - Understanding of API design, request/response handling, authentication, error handling, and service integration. - Hands-on experience with Hibernate/ORM. - Understanding of database connectivity, entity mapping, relationships, transactions, and query optimization. Web Application Development : - Experience building MVC-based web applications. - Hands-on experience with JSP and Struts. - Basic understanding of HTML and web application technologies. - Hands-on experience with one or more of the following: 1. Apache Tomcat 2. Oracle WebLogic Server Microservices : - Experience developing and deploying Spring Boot-based Microservices. - Understanding of service-to-service communication and distributed application architecture. - Knowledge of microservices development, deployment, monitoring, and troubleshooting. Desired Skills : - Strong understanding of MVC architecture. - Experience with JSP/Struts-based applications. - Knowledge of Hibernate. - Experience with Tomcat/WebLogic. - Exposure to Microservices architecture. - Understanding of software development lifecycle and Agile methodologies. - Exposure to CI/CD and DevOps practices will be an advantage. - Excellent verbal and written communication skills. - Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. - Excellent team player with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. - Ability to work with global and geographically distributed teams. - Strong ownership and accountability for assigned deliverables. - Ability to manage priorities and follow through on deadlines. - Good stakeholder management and interpersonal skills. - Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to the overall team. - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline. - Equivalent technical qualifications with relevant industry experience may also be considered.
