9-month contract with potential for extension Based in Cairns | Flexible work arrangements after probation Design engaging print, digital and video content that makes a real community impact Graphic Designer 9-Month Contract with Potential Extension Office-based with flexible working arrangements after probation Are you a creative Graphic Designer who loves bringing ideas to life across print, digital and video? We're seeking a talented visual storyteller to join a high-performing communications team, creating engaging content that connects with communities across North Queensland. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on meaningful projects with real community impact while collaborating with experienced communications and stakeholder engagement professionals. The Opportunity As the Graphic Designer, you'll develop high-quality visual communications that support a wide range of stakeholder engagement initiatives. From designing publications and social media assets to producing videos and presentations, no two days will be the same. Working closely with internal stakeholders, you'll transform complex information into engaging, accessible and visually compelling content while ensuring all work aligns with corporate branding and accessibility standards. Key Responsibilities • Design creative assets across print, digital and video platforms. • Produce brochures, publications, newsletters, presentations, maps, social media content and digital advertising. • Create and edit engaging video content. • Provide expert advice on branding, visual communication and creative design. • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand communication objectives and deliver impactful design solutions. • Coordinate external suppliers including printers, photographers, videographers and other creative specialists. • Manage multiple projects and competing priorities while meeting deadlines. • Ensure all creative outputs comply with accessibility standards and brand guidelines. • Stay up to date with emerging design trends and technologies. About You You'll be a passionate and innovative designer with excellent creative flair and a strong eye for detail. You'll enjoy working in a collaborative environment and have the confidence to manage multiple projects from concept through to delivery. You'll also bring: • Strong proficiency across Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop and Premiere Pro). • Experience creating content for both print and digital channels. • Video editing and multimedia production skills. • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and accessible document creation. • Experience working within established corporate branding guidelines. • Exceptional organisational skills with the ability to juggle competing priorities. • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills. Highly Regarded • Five or more years' experience in graphic, digital or visual design. • Tertiary qualifications in Graphic Design or a related discipline (or equivalent experience). • Experience within a large corporate or government environment. • Knowledge of Queensland Government branding or communication processes.
