Job Description

An exciting opportunity for an Assistant Accountant to join a collaborative finance team, supporting both accounting and Accounts Receivable functions. This broad role offers exposure to month-end processes, reporting, reconciliations, compliance, and credit management, with scope to take on additional responsibilities as the business grows. Client Details Our client is a well-established and highly regarded organisation with a strong market presence and a supportive, team-oriented culture. Due to continued growth, they are seeking an ambitious Assistant Accountant to join their finance team and contribute across a range of accounting and Accounts Receivable activities. Description Reporting to the Accounting Manager, your responsibilities will include: • Managing the Accounts Receivable function, including account setup, credit applications, credit reviews, debtor management, and account reconciliations. • Performing bank reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, prepayments, and general ledger reconciliations. • Assisting with month-end processes and reporting activities. • Supporting BAS preparation, audit requirements, and finance reporting. • Monitoring customer accounts, credit limits, overdue balances, and bad debt provisions. • Preparing regular reporting on debtors, credit exposure, and account performance. • Working closely with internal stakeholders to ensure financial targets and deadlines are achieved. Profile To be successful in this role, you will have: • 3-4 years' experience in an Assistant Accountant, Accounts Receivable, or similar finance position. • Strong understanding of accounting principles and month-end processes. • Previous experience managing Accounts Receivable and credit functions. • Advanced Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and XLOOKUPs. • Excellent attention to detail and strong numerical accuracy. • Effective communication skills and the ability to build relationships with stakeholders. • A proactive and collaborative approach, with a willingness to learn and develop.
