Director - Human Resources - Multidisciplinary University - IIM/XLRI/TISS/FMS

About the Opportunity: A large, fast-growing multidisciplinary university in Pune (part of a well-established, reputed education group) is looking for a Director - HR to lead its people strategy. This is a newly expanded, high-visibility mandate to build and scale a modern HR function supporting the institution's next phase of growth spanning academic (faculty) and non-academic staff. Key Responsibilities: - Own end-to-end HR strategy in partnership with top institutional leadership (VC/Pro-VC level) - Lead talent acquisition and employer branding to attract high-caliber faculty and administrative leaders - Design performance management, compensation, and career frameworks across academic and non-academic cadres - Drive HR digitization, HRMS implementation, and analytics-led decision-making - Ensure compliance with UGC/AICTE and other higher-education regulatory frameworks - Build and lead a high-performing HR team (recruitment, HRBP, L&D, comp & benefits, HR ops) Who Should Apply: - MBA/PGDM in HR from a top-tier B-school (IIM/XLRI/TISS/FMS or equivalent) strongly preferred - 15-20+ years of progressive HR leadership experience, including 5+ years at Director/CHRO or senior HRBP level - Experience in large, complex organizations (1,500+ employees) - higher education, research institutions, or top-tier corporates - Prior exposure to academic/faculty HR is a strong plus; strong corporate HR leaders open to transitioning into academia are also encouraged to apply - Experience engaging with regulatory/accreditation bodies is an advantage Location: Pune Reporting to: Vice Chancellor / Pro Vice Chancellor (institutional leadership)
