Job Description

Description At Oviva, we’re on a mission to make sustainable, personalized, clinically effective care accessible to everyone as we build Europe’s leading AI-powered chronic care platform. Our digital programmes help people manage weight-related illnesses by focusing on what matters most: improving health, building confidence, and enhancing quality of life. To date, we have supported over one million people across the UK, Switzerland, and Germany. We're hiring a Principal Product Designer to be the lead design voice at Oviva and the de facto owner of our mobile app's design direction. This is a senior individual contributor role with high influence. You'll set the design vision and standards, own the design system strategy, and hold a clear, evidence-backed point of view on where Oviva's product experience needs to go next. You'll work closely with leadership across Product, Patient Experience, Marketing, Brand, and Engineering. When their priorities compete, patient outcomes are the tiebreaker. As an AI native, you’ll oversee the adoption of AI tools in Design. This role is central to making sure that shift improves the patient experience and measurable impact, rather than just accelerating output. Requirements Essential: • 10+ years of digital product design experience, with a heavy focus on world-class iOS and Android mobile applications. • Hands-on experience with AI-native design workflows — agentic coding tools, AI-assisted prototyping, natural-language-driven design processes. If you haven't shipped in this environment yet, evidence of your individual experimentation and growth mindset is critical • Demonstrable, directly attributable influence on a consumer application that successfully delivered both engagement and behavioural change. • Fluency in adjudicating between competing stakeholder objectives — growth, patient experience, brand — using a clear, defensible framework rather than intuition alone • A sharp, current point of view on consumer product and digital health innovation, and the ability to translate it into concrete product direction • Comfort interpreting product analytics from tools such as Mixpanel, Amplitude, Hotjar or equivalent, and applying user data directly to design decisions • Exceptional communication and facilitation skills. You can align engineers, product managers, and design peers behind a single UX direction and make the case stick • Deep understanding of WCAG accessibility standards applied natively to mobile • Excellent written and spoken English Desirable: • German language proficiency • Experience in health tech, digital therapeutics, or behavioral science-driven product domains where clinical validation is critical • Understanding of mobile engineering frameworks and how design systems translate into code Education: • A degree in Design, HCI, Interaction Design, or a related field is a plus. • A portfolio demonstrating exceptional mobile UI/UX and systemic design thinking is required. Experience and outcomes take precedence over credentials.
