Job Description

What you’ll need to succeed: • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Labour Studies, Industrial Relations, or a related field. • CHRP designation (completed or in progress) is considered an asset. • 1-2 years of Human Resources experience, preferably in a manufacturing and/or unionized environment. • Exposure to labor relations, grievance handling, employee investigations, collective agreements, or employee relations is preferred. • Knowledge of the Employment Standards Act (ESA), Ontario Human Rights Code, Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA), and labor relations principles. • Strong interpersonal, communication, conflict resolution, and problem-solving skills. • Ability to manage confidential information with professionalism and discretion. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. • Experience with HRIS, applicant tracking systems, and disability management processes is an asset. What awaits you: • Support daily Human Resources operations and administration for the facility. • Coordinate recruitment activities, including job postings, candidate screening, interviews, onboarding, and orientation. • Serve as a point of contact for supervisors and employees regarding HR policies, procedures, attendance, employee relations, and collective agreement administration. • Assist with labor relations activities, including grievance administration, collective agreement interpretation, and meeting preparation. • Conduct workplace investigations relating to attendance concerns, policy violations, respectful workplace complaints, and other employee relations matters. • Support attendance management, progressive discipline, and employee performance discussions. • Administer Sick & Accident (S&A), Short-Term Disability (STD), and Long-Term Disability (LTD) programs, including employee communication and coordination with benefit providers. • Coordinate return-to-work and modified work programs, including accommodations and medical restrictions. • Administer training and development programs, including apprenticeship programs and skills development initiatives. • Coordinate employee engagement activities and support employee communication programs. • Manage temporary labor requirements, including agency staffing, onboarding, and workforce tracking. • Maintain employee records and HR systems while ensuring confidentiality and compliance. • Participate in HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
