VP/AVP - Finance Controller - D2C - CA/IIM/MDI/ISB

Role Overview: We are seeking a seasoned finance leader to join our team in Pune as the Vice President/Assistant Vice President - Finance Controller for our rapidly scaling D2C business. In this pivotal role, you will serve as the backbone of our financial operations, overseeing the entire controllership function while driving strategic financial planning to support our aggressive growth trajectory. You will work closely with the founders and cross-functional leadership teams to translate complex data into actionable business insights, ensuring robust fiscal discipline across all channels. Your impact will be felt in the integrity of our financial reporting, the efficiency of our supply chain cost management, and the overall profitability of our D2C ecosystem, ultimately shaping the long-term financial health of the organization. Key Responsibilities: - Lead the end-to-end controllership function, including statutory compliance, internal audits, and financial reporting, to ensure the organization maintains impeccable fiscal governance. - Manage the P&L performance across multiple D2C channels, identifying cost-saving opportunities and revenue levers to drive sustainable margin expansion. - Oversee the implementation and optimization of ERP systems to streamline financial workflows, improve data accuracy, and provide real-time visibility into operational metrics. - Partner with the leadership team on strategic finance initiatives, including capital allocation, cash flow forecasting, and long-term business planning to support market expansion. - Direct the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial statements that meet the highest standards of regulatory and investor requirements. - Mentor and scale the finance team, fostering a culture of high performance, analytical rigor, and cross-departmental collaboration. Required Skillset: - Demonstrated expertise in managing complex financial controllership and accounting operations within a high-growth D2C or retail environment. - Proven ability to lead strategic financial planning and analysis, with a track record of translating financial data into clear, high-level business strategies for executive stakeholders. - Strong technical proficiency in ERP implementation and financial systems management, coupled with a deep understanding of Indian accounting standards and tax regulations. - Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional teams and articulate financial narratives to non-finance stakeholders. - A professional qualification such as CA or MBA from a premier institute, reflecting a strong academic foundation and analytical mindset. - Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, on-site work environment in Pune, demonstrating the adaptability required to manage the evolving demands of a scaling D2C brand. - 11 - 16 years of progressive experience in finance roles, with a specific focus on controllership and strategic finance within the consumer goods or retail sector.
