Job Description
This is a role with a Leading EPC organization in a mission-critical infrastructure space.
Reporting to: Business Head Modular Construction Vertical.
Role Purpose:
Moving away from transactional purchasing, the Supply Chain Lead will establish a highly strategic, industrialized procurement ecosystem capable of supporting predictable, rapid factory manufacturing schedules across multiple regions.
Summary:
- Strategic Frameworks: Negotiate multi-year corporate framework agreements and secure factory capacity reservations with major global and regional MEP OEMs (e.g., switchgear, chillers, generators).
- Industrialized Procurement: Transition the organization away from traditional project-by-project buying into programmatic, productized procurement.
- JIT Pipeline Management: Establish Just-In-Time (JIT) vendor pipelines feeding the prefabrication factories, managing long-lead item risks across India, ME, and Africa.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own end-to-end supply chain planning and execution for modular/PPVC projects.
- Design and manage the vendor ecosystem for module fabrication - make judgment calls on vendor consolidation.
- Coordinate just-in-time delivery from multiple component vendors into a single integrated module.
- Plan and manage oversized/out-of-gauge cargo logistics - crane capacity and availability, maximum shipment size by road, route planning for transport (including runs of 500+ km), and building delivery estimates from first-hand experience rather than theoretical benchmarks.
- Act as the on-ground SME for prefabrication/modular methodology - advise on what's practically executable, not just technically ideal.
- Build out a supporting team as needed; if the required specialization isn't available in-house, identify and bring in the right people.
- Partner with the parallel non-modular EPC supply chain function to ensure alignment where relevant.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
Core requirement: Direct experience with prefabrication / modular volumetric construction / PPVC methodology, ideally including:
1. Vendor orchestration decisions in a multi-vendor fabrication environment.
2. Working knowledge of crane operations, lifting capacities, and oversized/ODC road transport constraints.
3. Comfort operating as an individual contributor with SME authority, not just a manager.
Strong adjacent backgrounds:
- Offshore/onshore module fabrication - oil & gas, offshore rigs (large structures built onshore, then transported/installed).
- Large-scale solar or wind farm construction (oversized components, remote-site logistics).
- Pre-engineered building (PEB) manufacturing - most data centers today are built this way.
- Heavy engineering / shipbuilding fabrication yards.
