Job Description

Description: As a Wholesale Credit Associate in the Corporate Credit Risk team, you support informed risk-taking by delivering high-quality credit analysis and recommendations across a diverse portfolio of corporate clients. You work closely with business partners and senior risk leaders to assess transactions, structure solutions, and monitor ongoing exposures. You contribute to disciplined risk management while developing strong technical, communication, and stakeholder management skills. Job responsibilities: - Support and, where required, lead due diligence and prepare credit analyses of counterparties. - Prepare concise credit memoranda with clear recommendations on transaction structure, risk appetite, and credit grading. - Build, maintain, and review financial models, challenge key assumptions, and design downside scenarios. - Interpret and negotiate loan documentation, including syndicated and leveraged finance agreements, to mitigate risk. - Monitor and manage the credit risk portfolio, tracking ratings, sector developments, and client performance. - Identify changes in risk profile and recommend exposure adjustments. - Assess and support a broad range of products including loans, derivatives, trade finance, and treasury solutions. - Coordinate with senior stakeholders across banking, product teams, and Credit Officers to support approvals and risk alignment. - Apply firm risk management policies and engage with control partners, including Regulators and Auditors. - Support the development of junior colleagues through coaching and on-the-job guidance. Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills: - Demonstrated analytical rigor and sound credit judgment, with the ability to identify and communicate key risks. - Strong capability in financial modelling and scenario analysis across multiple lending contexts. - Ability to leverage AI-enabled tools to support analysis and improve efficiency. - Knowledge of transaction structures, loan documentation standards, and core banking products. - Proven ability to manage workstreams end to end, prioritize effectively, and operate in a dynamic environment. - Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills. - Ability to collaborate with and influence internal stakeholders. - Capability to coach and support the development of junior team members. - Self-directed, adaptable, and motivated to drive continuous improvement. - Prior experience in a comparable credit, risk, or banking environment. Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills: - Experience across multiple industry sectors or complex client portfolios. - Exposure to leveraged finance or structured lending transactions. - Experience interacting with senior Credit Officers or risk committees. - Familiarity with regulatory expectations and audit engagement. - Strong stakeholder management skills in a matrix organization.
