Role Summary : The Senior Data Engineer will own the design, implementation, administration, performance optimization, security, and operational management of Amazon Aurora PostgreSQL/MySQL databases supporting enterprise data engineering workloads. The role involves supporting scalable, secure, and high-performing data platforms integrated with AWS services, analytics solutions, and AI-driven use cases. Top Must-Have Skills : 1. MySQL DBA / Aurora MySQL Administration 2. AWS Services (Aurora/RDS, IAM, CloudWatch, S3) 3. Python & Shell Scripting Mandatory Skills : - MySQL DBA - AWS - Shell Scripting - Python - Aurora MySQL - MongoDB Good-to-Have Skills : - MongoDB Atlas - Databricks - ETL/ELT Data Engineering - Streaming Data Pipelines - AI/ML Concepts - FinTech / Payments / Financial Services Domain - Terraform - CloudFormation - CI/CD for Data Platforms - AWS Certifications Key Responsibilities : - Manage and administer Amazon Aurora PostgreSQL databases. - Design and optimize database schemas and data models. - Handle provisioning, upgrades, patching, backups, and HA setup. - Monitor database performance, health, and capacity planning. - Implement security controls, audit logging, and compliance standards. - Support ETL/ELT pipelines and data ingestion workloads. - Integrate databases with Databricks, S3, and analytics platforms. - Automate operational tasks using scripting and AWS-native services. - Troubleshoot critical production incidents and perform root cause analysis. - Maintain operational documentation, SOPs, and runbooks. Target Candidate Profile : - 6-8 years of overall IT experience. - Strong hands-on expertise in MySQL/Aurora database administration. - Extensive AWS cloud experience. - Strong scripting skills in Python and Shell. - Experience supporting high-volume production data platforms. - Excellent troubleshooting, performance tuning, and database optimization skills. - Experience in regulated financial environments is preferred.
