Cyber Security Expert - Infrastructure Security

Role Overview: We are seeking a seasoned Cyber Security expert to join our team in Kolkata, tasked with fortifying our digital perimeter and ensuring the integrity of our global infrastructure. In this role, you will act as the primary guardian of our data ecosystem, working closely with engineering, SRE, and executive stakeholders to architect resilient security frameworks. Your day-to-day will involve proactive threat hunting, rigorous application security assessments, and the implementation of robust data privacy protocols. By bridging the gap between infrastructure security and site reliability, you will directly influence our business continuity, ensuring that our platforms remain impenetrable to evolving cyber threats while maintaining seamless performance for our end users. Key Responsibilities: - Lead the end-to-end design and deployment of secure VPC architectures to isolate sensitive workloads and minimize the organizational attack surface. - Execute comprehensive penetration testing and vulnerability assessments to identify and remediate security gaps before they can be exploited by external actors. - Implement advanced mitigation strategies against DDoS attacks and SQL injection vulnerabilities to ensure uninterrupted service availability and data integrity. - Collaborate with SRE teams to integrate security-as-code practices, ensuring that infrastructure scaling does not compromise our defensive posture. - Oversee data protection and privacy compliance initiatives, ensuring that all internal processes align with global regulatory standards and internal security policies. - Manage and optimize firewall configurations and security group policies to enforce strict access control and traffic monitoring across all production environments. Required Skillset: - Demonstrated expertise in managing complex infrastructure security, with a proven ability to harden cloud environments and secure VPC configurations against sophisticated threats. - Strong technical proficiency in application security, specifically in preventing SQL injection and mitigating large-scale DDoS attacks through intelligent traffic filtering. - Proven experience in Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles, allowing for the seamless integration of security protocols into high-availability production systems. - Exceptional analytical skills to interpret penetration testing results and translate them into actionable remediation plans for cross-functional engineering teams. - Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate complex security risks to non-technical stakeholders and influence organizational data privacy culture. - A Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field, complemented by a minimum of 7 - 10 years of hands-on experience in a high-stakes security environment. - High adaptability to a hybrid work model in Kolkata, maintaining a proactive and collaborative approach to team engagement and incident response.
