Financial Controller - Housing Finance

: Financial Controller Location: Mumbai Industry: Housing Finance / NBFC / BFSI Experience: 1218 Years Qualification: Chartered Accountant (CA) preferred Role Overview: We are looking for an experienced Financial Controller to lead the financial accounting, controllership, reporting and compliance function for a Housing Finance Company. The incumbent will be responsible for ensuring strong financial governance, accurate reporting, regulatory compliance and robust financial controls. The role will work closely with the CFO and senior management and will interact with auditors, regulators, lenders and other external stakeholders. Key Responsibilities: - Own the financial controllership, accounting and financial reporting function. - Lead preparation and finalization of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements. - Ensure compliance with Ind AS, Companies Act, RBI/NHB regulations and applicable accounting standards. - Manage monthly and annual book closure, consolidation, reconciliations and financial reporting. - Strengthen internal financial controls (IFC), accounting policies, SOPs and governance frameworks. - Lead statutory audit, internal audit, regulatory audit and other financial reviews. - Oversee provisioning, ECL accounting, NPA recognition and other accounting matters relevant to housing finance/NBFC businesses. - Ensure accuracy of regulatory and management reporting and provide financial insights to senior management. - Oversee taxation, GST, TDS and other statutory financial compliances in coordination with relevant teams/advisors. - Drive automation and improvement of finance processes, ERP/MIS and financial controls. - Partner with Treasury, Risk, Credit, Business, Compliance and Operations teams on finance-related matters. - Manage and develop the finance and accounting team. Candidate Profile: - Chartered Accountant with approximately 1218 years of post-qualification experience. - Strong experience in Housing Finance Companies, NBFCs, Banks or Lending businesses preferred. - Deep understanding of Ind AS, RBI/NHB regulations, ECL, financial reporting and controllership. - Experience handling statutory auditors and senior internal/external stakeholders. - Strong knowledge of financial controls, regulatory reporting and accounting systems/ERP. - Demonstrated ability to lead finance teams and operate in a growing, regulated financial-services environment.
