VML - Python DevOps Engineer

Job Title: Python DevOps Engineer Location: Gurgaon, Hyderabad, Coimbatore Type of position: Fulltime Experience: 7+ Year What Youll Be Doing: - Design, build, and maintain production backend services primarily in Python (with TypeScript where appropriate). - Develop web APIs and backend services using FastAPI, Flask, or Django. - Write clean, well-tested Python code using type hints, pytest, mypy, and pydantic. - Build asynchronous, event-driven Python services and manage dependencies with tools like Poetry or uv. - Develop complex cloud-native serverless applications. - Build and deploy containerized applications on Kubernetes. - Work with serverless technologies, including: 1. API management 2. Serverless functions 3. Event-driven architectures 4. Serverless databases and document stores - Apply DevOps principles and manage infrastructure through Git. - Use Terraform to provision and manage cloud resources. - Leverage design patterns and reference architectures for scalable cloud solutions. - Follow a test-driven, quality-first engineering approach. - Communicate effectively with strong written and verbal skills. - Use Diagrams as Code to document infrastructure architecture. - Design systems with observability and security in mind. - Take ownership of deployments in a true DevOps environment. What We Want From You: - Strong hands-on experience building and maintaining production web APIs and backend services in Python. - Proficiency with FastAPI, Flask, or Django. - Solid understanding of pytest, type hints, and dependency management tools such as Poetry, uv, or pip. - Familiarity with asynchronous Python (asyncio) and concurrency patterns. - Experience packaging and containerizing Python applications with Docker. - Strong experience deploying cloud infrastructure on AWS, Azure, and GCP. - Understanding of Kubernetes deployments. - Familiarity with serverless technologies, including functions, queues, file storage, API management, and key-value stores. - Experience working with APIs and integration patterns. - Knowledge of DevOps principles and Git, with exposure to modern practices like monorepos. - Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform and CloudFormation. - Understanding of design patterns for building scalable and efficient systems. - A quality-driven, test-first mindset. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills. - Familiarity with Diagrams as Code is a plus. - Understanding of OAuth2 and OIDC authentication protocols. - Awareness of observability and security considerations in infrastructure design. - Contributions to open-source projects are a plus.
