RDK-B Software Engineer - C++/Yocto/GStreamer

Job Title: RDK-B Software Engineer (C++ / Yocto / GStreamer) Experience: 410 Years Location: Bangalore Employment Type: Full-Time Job Summary: We are looking for a highly skilled RDK-B Software Engineer with strong expertise in C++, Yocto, and GStreamer to develop and maintain broadband gateway software on embedded Linux platforms. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with RDK-B architecture, networking protocols, multimedia frameworks, and Linux-based embedded systems. Key Responsibilities: - Design, develop, and maintain software components for RDK-B broadband gateways. - Develop and enhance applications and middleware using C/C++ on Embedded Linux. - Customize and maintain Yocto-based Linux distributions for embedded platforms. - Integrate and optimize GStreamer pipelines for multimedia processing and streaming. - Debug and resolve issues related to networking, middleware, multimedia, and system performance. - Develop and maintain broadband features such as DHCP, DNS, NAT, IPv4/IPv6, Ethernet, and routing. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams including platform, QA, validation, and customer engineering teams. - Perform code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards and software quality processes. - Work with Git/GitHub for source code management and CI/CD workflows. - Troubleshoot issues using Linux debugging tools and network analyzers. - Participate in feature development, bug fixing, integration, and release activities. Mandatory Skills: - Strong hands-on experience in RDK-B development. - Excellent programming skills in C/C++. - Strong experience with Yocto Project and BitBake. - Hands-on experience with GStreamer framework. - Good knowledge of Embedded Linux development. - Experience with Git/GitHub version control. Required Technical Skills: - 410 years of software development experience in Embedded Linux. - Strong understanding of Broadband technologies and RDK-B architecture. - Knowledge of networking concepts and protocols: 1. TCP/IP 2. DHCP 3. DNS 4. IPv4/IPv6 5. NAT 6. Ethernet - Good understanding of networking layers (L1L3). - Experience working in Linux and Windows development environments. - Experience with shell scripting is an added advantage. - Familiarity with build systems and cross-compilation environments. - Experience in debugging embedded applications using GDB, Valgrind, Wireshark, or similar tools. - Knowledge of device drivers and Linux internals is an advantage. Preferred Skills: - Experience with Broadband Gateway, Wi-Fi Routers, or Set-Top Box platforms. - Exposure to CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins/GitHub Actions). - Knowledge of OpenWrt or Buildroot. - Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies. - Good analytical and problem-solving skills. - Strong verbal and written communication skills. Education: - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
