Job Description

: We are seeking a highly skilled Oracle Database Administrator (Oracle DBA) with experience in managing and supporting enterprise-scale Oracle database environments. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring database availability, performance, security, backup and recovery, and high availability while supporting mission-critical production systems. The role requires hands-on expertise in Oracle technologies, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), and strong experience in production support within Managed Services environments. Key Responsibilities : - Install, configure, upgrade, patch, and administer Oracle databases across development, testing, and production environments. - Manage and support Oracle RAC, ASM, and RMAN to ensure high availability and reliable backup and recovery. - Monitor database health and proactively identify and resolve performance issues. - Perform database performance tuning using AWR, ASH, ADDM, and SQL Tuning techniques. - Implement and maintain backup, recovery, disaster recovery, and database security strategies. - Support Oracle Utilities database environments and ensure optimal database performance. - Manage Oracle databases hosted on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and support hybrid cloud deployments. - Collaborate with application, infrastructure, middleware, and cloud teams for deployments, upgrades, and issue resolution. - Develop and maintain Shell scripts to automate routine database administration tasks. - Troubleshoot and resolve database-related incidents in 24x7 production environments within SLA timelines. - Follow ITIL-based processes for Incident, Change, Problem, and Release Management. - Prepare and maintain technical documentation, SOPs, implementation guides, and operational reports. - Participate in capacity planning, database optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives. Required Skillset : - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. - Experience in Oracle Database Administration within large-scale enterprise environments. - Strong hands-on expertise in Oracle Database Administration, including Oracle RAC, ASM, and RMAN. - Expertise in Database Performance Tuning using AWR, ASH, ADDM, and SQL Tuning. - Experience supporting Oracle Utilities database architectures. - Minimum 2+ years of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) experience (Mandatory for IDC roles). - Exposure to AWS in hybrid cloud environments is preferred. - Strong Unix/Linux administration and Shell scripting skills. - Experience working in IMS / Managed Services delivery models. - Good understanding of ITIL processes and operational governance. - Exposure to Oracle middleware technologies such as Oracle WebLogic, Oracle SOA Suite, and Oracle GoldenGate is an added advantage. - Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills. - Excellent communication, customer-facing, and stakeholder management skills. - Ability to work effectively in a 24x7 production support environment and handle critical production incidents.
