Database Administrator - PostgreSQL/SQL Server

Job Title : Database Administrator (PostgreSQL & MS SQL Server) Experience : 6 to 8 Years Location : Work from Office Role Overview : We are seeking an experienced Database Administrator (DBA) with strong expertise in PostgreSQL and MS SQL Server. The role focuses on database development, performance tuning, maintenance, schema design, and optimization while working closely with development teams to build scalable and reliable data solutions. Key Responsibilities : - Manage and maintain PostgreSQL and MS SQL Server databases. - Optimize database performance through query tuning, indexing, and schema improvements. - Develop and maintain stored procedures, functions, views, and triggers. - Monitor database health, troubleshoot issues, and implement maintenance tasks. - Review database-related code, schemas, and design changes. - Define database development standards and best practices. - Collaborate with developers and product teams on data-layer design and enhancements. - Leverage AI tools and automation to improve DBA workflows and efficiency. Required Skills : - 68 years of DBA experience with PostgreSQL and MS SQL Server. - Strong knowledge of query optimization, indexing, transactions, locking, and concurrency. - Hands-on experience with database maintenance, backups, recovery, and performance tuning. - Expertise in stored procedures, functions, triggers, and views. - Experience with database jobs, monitoring, and automation. - Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills. Nice to Have : - Experience with NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Redis, Cassandra). - Exposure to graph/vector databases (Neo4j, Pinecone, pgvector). - Knowledge of AWS RDS, Azure SQL, or Google Cloud SQL. - Experience using AI/LLM tools for database administration. Qualifications : - B.E./B.Tech in Computer Science, IT, or related field. - Relevant PostgreSQL or Microsoft database certifications are a plus.
