Description POSITION SUMMARY: The Center for Urban Transportation Research (CUTR) at the University of South Florida is seeking a creative and motivated OPS student assistant to join our team. The position will help design and develop creative assets for the Motorcycle Injury Prevention Research (MIPR) Program. Our team conducts research and educational outreach to prevent motor-vehicle injuries and deaths with a focus on motorcycles. This student assistant position will primarily assist with creating visually compelling graphics for MIPR’s print and digital campaigns, will help develop social media content, and assist with other creative projects as needed. Applicants should have a strong sense of visual storytelling and have an educational foundation in graphic design, digital communications, or visual arts. Responsibilities RESPONSIBILITIES: • Assist with creating graphics for print and digital materials, including flyers, posters, presentations, and social media content. • Assist with scheduling social media content on multiple platforms • Edit short video clips for educational purposes and online content • Assist with other creative projects as assigned • Maintain a positive and professional attitude while working collaboratively with faculty, staff, and students Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: • Currently enrolled as a student at the University of South Florida • Strong visual communication skills with an understanding of design principles • Portfolio showcasing your creative abilities in graphic design, videography, or other relevant visual mediums • Proficiency in graphic design software (e.g., Canva, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator) • Basic experience with video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, iMovie) • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines Preferred Qualifications: • Pursuing a degree in Graphic Arts, Fine Arts, Advertising, Digital/Multimedia Communications, Marketing, or a related field • Knowledge of motorcycling community is a plus ****This job is subject to Foreign Influence Screening: During the 2021 Florida legislative session, House Bill 7017 (“HB 7017”) was passed and later signed into law by Governor DeSantis. The new law modifies a variety of Florida Statutes to address concerns regarding improper foreign influence. With regard to employment at major research institutions like the University of South Florida, the new law requires thorough review of certain applicants for positions involving research.
