Quality Staffing Specialists are currently seeking skilled Registered Nurses to work within the hospital in the Emergency Department with Behavioral Health patients. A Behavioral Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN) manages psychiatric crises and acute medical needs in a fast-paced ER setting. They triage patients, perform de-escalation, administer medications, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to stabilize patients safely before discharge or transfer. Required Skills/Experience: Must have 2 years of experience in the Emergency Room and Behavioral Health ED. You will be working with all age populations. Must have experience with 1:4 staffing ratios Patient Diagnoses: chest pain, abdominal pain, shortness of breath, psych evaluation, respiratory distress, cardiac arrest, etc. Psychiatric ER Required Skills: Patient searches, Emergent chemical restraints, Physical Hold Protocol, Legal Aspects of Behavioral Health, Use of Seclusion, Voluntary /involuntary commitment, Medications/Methods of delivery, Antianxiety, Antidepressants, Antipsychotics, Medication Administration, Mood stabilizer, Sedatives/Analgesics, Behavior management techniques, Crisis Intervention, De-escalation techniques, Managing Assaultive Behavior, and Seclusion protocols/procedures Work Settings: General ED, STEMI Certified facility, and Stroke Certified facility Cardiac Monitoring/Emergency Response: Interpretation/Management of dysrhythmias, Management of a patient with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure, and Obtain 12-lead EKG/ECG. IV Therapy/Phlebotomy: Arterial line management, Blood product administration, Central line care/management, Phlebotomy, Starting/Maintaining IVs. Medications: Continuous IV paralytics, Continuous IV sedation, Emergency medications, IV vasopressors, and Procedural sedation administration/monitoring. Neurological: CVA (Cerebrovascular Accident) and Traumatic Brain injury. Pediatrics: Abdominal pain, Asthma, Burns, Epiglottitis, Head injury, Hyperglyce
