Discord has a highly engaged community of millions of daily active users who use the platform for many different reasons, but there’s one thing that nearly everyone does: play video games. Discord plays a uniquely important role in the future of gaming, and we are focused on making it easier and more fun for people to hang out before, during, and after playing games. Our mission on the Developer Platform Team is to help game studios succeed by creating meaningful experiences for players. As a B2B2C team, we serve two key audiences. For game studios, we build smart integrations and intuitive tools that make it easy for developers and community managers to connect with players and bring the best of Discord into their games. For players, we enhance on-platform experiences that deepen their connection to the games they love—and make it easier to build lasting friendships through play. You’ll work on everything from the tools studios use to integrate with Discord to the player-facing experiences those integrations enable. For example, you might design in-game ways to invite Discord friends to play, onboarding flows for studios, or new ways to bring game moments and achievements onto Discord to spark social connection. Your work will span surfaces like the developer portal, dashboards, self-serve tools, in-game overlays, and the Discord client itself—where players discover games, make new friends, and play together. As a product designer, you’ll work across the full product development cycle—from early exploration through to launch and iteration. You’ll bring a thoughtful mix of user empathy, systems thinking, and visual craft to solve meaningful problems for developers and players alike.
