ABOUT SDSN
The UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN) has been operating since 2012 under the auspices of the UN Secretary-General. SDSN mobilizes global scientific and technological expertise to promote practical solutions for sustainable development, including the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the Paris Climate Agreement. We aim to accelerate joint learning and promote integrated approaches that address the interconnected economic, social, and environmental challenges confronting the world.
The SDSN Networks team contributes to several innovative projects funded by the European Commission (Horizon Europe, Erasmus+, LIFE) and international funders, such as Climate-Resilient Development Pathways in MEtropolitan Regions of Europe (CARMINE), University Cooperation for Net Zero on Campus (UNICO), and Just mitigation and adaptation pathways In Climate Transitions (Just in Clime). These projects showcase solutions for transformational climate action, spanning both mitigation and adaptation strategies. Leveraging on its European and global network of knowledge institutions, SDSN Networks play a key role in leading project work packages on communication, dissemination and exploitation, as well as acting as a project lead under different consortia on projects relating to university cooperation, climate action and environment.
The SDSN Networks Program is seeking a dynamic and highly organized Project Manager to lead our work on EU project coordination, project delivery, fundraising, and donor reporting across several initiatives. Project manager will work closely with our international, multi-cultural, and mission-driven Networks team, ensuring effective coordination, reporting, and dissemination of project activities. The incumbent will report to the Director of SDSN Networks.
TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Project coordination & delivery
•
Coordinate EU-funded projects (Horizon Europe, Erasmus+, LIFE) for SDSN Networks — timelines, deliverables, reporting, task distribution across the team
•
Lead and coordinate select work package and task-level meetings; present at project progress meetings
•
Build and maintain strong working relationships with project partners, ensuring timely, quality contributions
•
Represent SDSN Networks at partner meetings and relevant public events
•
Identify synergies amongst EU sister projects as well as between projects and SDSN's broader activities
Communication & dissemination
•
Lead development and implementation of communication and dissemination (DEC) strategies for EU projects, in coordination with partners
•
Oversee reporting on communication and dissemination activities
•
Guide the work of the team's Communications Officer and project partners’ comms contributions (social media, website, newsletters, campaigns)
•
Plan and lead online and in-person events with partners, aligned with key international moments (e.g., COP, UNGA, EU Green Week), to amplify project impact
Proposal development
•
Work with the Director and Vice-President of Networks to identify relevant funding calls aligned with SDSN Networks' priorities (university partnerships, sustainable development, climate action, climate mitigation and adaptation)
•
Conceptualize and draft contributions to new project proposals — work plans, outputs, deliverables, milestones
Other
•
Occasional travel within France and internationally
•
Other duties in support of the Networks team's mission, as needed
QUALIFICATIONS
Required
•
2–5 years of experience in EU-funded project management (Horizon Europe, Erasmus+, LIFE, or similar) in a university, NGO, or comparable setting
•
Excellent written and spoken English
•
Experience managing or contributing significantly to at least one work package (e.g., communication, dissemination, or exploitation) within a multi-partner consortium
•
Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office / Google Suite, and AI tools to support research, drafting, and proposal work
•
A genuine interest in sustainable development, the SDGs, and EU climate policy (Paris Agreement, EU Green Deal)
•
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage several moving pieces at once
Desired
•
Experience acting as a project coordinator in small consortia
•
Experience identifying funding opportunities (European Commission, private foundations, development agencies).
•
Experience drafting EU funding proposals, conceptualizing work plans, outputs, deliverables, milestones.
•
Professional capacity in French
•
Experience identifying funding opportunities beyond EU sources (foundations, development agencies)

Salary range: € 45 000 - € 52 000
