Guest Engagement: Software Engineer II, Android

As an engineer on the Guest Engagement team, your mission will be creating the next generation of engagement experiences that help bring new guests into the restaurants, and turn them into regulars. You will work closely with UX, PM and QA, and have access to state of the art AI tools, to deliver some real impact on real people. A day in the life (Responsibilities) Design, build and maintain high performing, flexible, and scalable Android solutions running on Toast POS hardware in thousands of restaurants Ship features end-to-end, from design through rollout, monitoring for success and iterating based on real-world use Build great UX using best practices of modern Android development Be an awesome teammate who's all in on collaboration and collective success Create products and features that help restaurants deliver a best-in-class guest experience Collaborate closely with Product, Design, and Engineering stakeholders, and actively participate in Agile ceremonies Partner with team members and other engineers across the company to raise the bar for the Android experience at Toast What you'll need to thrive (Requirements) Proficient in Kotlin and/or Java for Android development, with hands-on experience shipping production Android apps Solid grasp of modern Android tooling and frameworks Excited about AI-assisted development and LLM-based agents (Claude Code or similar), and interested in pioneerin
