Job Description
In order to qualify, you must meet the requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Individual Occupational Requirements for the Information Technology (IT) Management Series, GS-2210 (Alternate A). EXPERIENCE: Must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the following four competencies: Attention to Detail, Customer Service, Oral Communication, Problem Solving AND have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade level (GS-09) or equivalent in other pay systems. Specialized experience includes: Developing IT security specifications and standards at the LAN level to ensure compliance with established regulations while planning and coordinating the delivery of installation-wide IT security awareness training for all personnel; evaluating IT security requirements for certification and accreditation, including network protocols and system testing, to monitor compliance, provide guidance on policy implementation, and recommend specific countermeasures based on accreditation reviews; and utilizing a wide range of IT and communication security techniques, procedures, and methods to address technical requirements and ensure the protection of information systems. OR EDUCATION: Must have a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree OR 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management OR a degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.
