Job Description
In order to qualify, you must meet the requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Individual Occupational Requirements for the Information Technology (IT) Management Series, GS-2210 (Alternate A). EXPERIENCE: Must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the following four competencies: Attention to Detail, Customer Service, Oral Communication, Problem Solving AND have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade level (GS-09) or equivalent in other pay systems. Specialized experience includes: Applying IT network systems design principles, methodologies, and approaches to the planning, developing, testing, operating, administering, and maintaining of network services that support functional requirements; utilizing the organization's network architecture, topology, and protocols to plan, design, develop, and integrate network systems consistent with existing or planned network infrastructures; and implementing customer support techniques/principles to review, validate, and standardize problem resolutions for inclusion in problem resolution databases. OR EDUCATION: Must have a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree OR 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management OR a degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.
