Senior Software Engineer, GeBIZ X

About the role You will build and maintain the GeBIZ X platform to modernize procurement processes for government agencies and external suppliers. This role focuses on delivering high-quality, sustainable software while collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet public sector requirements. Key facts Location: Singapore Engagement: 2-year fixed term contract Team: GeBIZ X, Ministry of Finance What you\'ll do • Develop, integrate, and design system architectures for public sector applications. • Collaborate with product managers, engineering managers, and UX designers to convert business needs into technical roadmaps. • Create prototypes and proof-of-concepts to evaluate new technological opportunities. • Manage cloud infrastructure deployments and ensure high system reliability. • Write production-ready code while prioritizing maintainability, security, and performance. • Use delivery metrics to guide technical decisions and improve team velocity. • Identify and lead engineering initiatives that increase team effectiveness and reduce technical debt. • Partner with stakeholders to align product delivery with the overall vision. Requirements • Bachelor degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field. • Minimum 5 years of hands-on DevOps software engineering experience using Agile methodologies like SCRUM. • Proficiency in Java or C#.Net. • Experience with RESTful APIs, ETL processes, AWS Glue for data migration, and database design. • Background in modern full-stack development, including SaaS, bespoke software, and COTS solutions. • Proven track record of deploying large-scale, high-availability systems, ideally within the public sector. • Understanding of public sector data protection and privacy regulations. • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Nice to have • Experience with Government Commercial Cloud (GCC), SHIP-HATS, and SG Tech Stack (SGTS).
